A short introduction into the North Sea-SEP project:
The primary focus of the project North Sea - Sustainable Energy Planning lies in the specific problems of communes, municipalities and regions have to develop and implement measures to increase the use of renewable energies and raise the amount of energy efficiency regarding the goals of the European Agenda 2020. The project consists of 14 transnational partners (DE, BE, DK, NL, SE and UK) from the fields of economy, science and regional decision makers with the Jade University of Applied Science Oldenburg as Lead Partner. atene KOM in the framework of this project is responsible for the project- and financial-management, as well as for the transnational communication.
In the context of the process of the energy turnaround (“Energiewende”) European project with the focus on topics like the ones mentioned above get an additional spotlight on them. The tools, which were created with the help of the partnership (e.g. a geoinformation system for the planning of renewable energies), business models (e.g. for the enhancement of the added value chain for eMobility) and studies (e.g. for the efficiency of solar energy in different European regions) add to a security in planning for decision makers and raise the potential of knowledge for follow-up activities in these fields of research. Through implementation and evaluation of best- and worst-practice examples these results are further supplemented, find a way of practical application and also illustrate the importance of the aspect of a sustainable planning.
