Geo-Information Systems (GIS) are now used in many ways. For years now, GIS have become indispensable in the planning processes in the public sector. Construction, environmental protection, spatial planning considerations and many more applications are implemented for years. Since Google Earth and Google Maps geo-referenced data became suitable for everyday use.
atene KOM uses the COM GIS systems for spatial analysis. Through the visualization in a GIS tool, the impact of such e.g. the use of wind energy or natural disasters can be made clearer.
But also for participation in processes such as Stuttgart 21 or large-scale analyses for e.g. funding or the demographic changes, GIS offer interesting applications.
The atene KOM uses GIS as a tool. By use of complementary measures, many years of experience and strategic considerations, we are able to develop site-specific data and additional recommendations for program development, crisis management and structural considerations.
The atene KOM concerning the use of GIS works together with several specialized partners all over Europe. A holistic integration in public administration can therefore be generated from a single source.
GIS is a technical system, whose potential can only be realized through correct use and interpretation - strategic considerations for the use and implementation through training and development of corporate or organizational culture are part of the duties of atene KOM.
